JCB Mudfest: Equipment for a Cause

JCB hosted its first-ever “Mudfest” at the company’s Savannah, Georgia headquarters last month. Compact Power is proud to have sponsored this event, and we extend our congratulations to our employees – who were part of the 1,300 runners and 50 bikers participating in Mudfest.
Mudfest is a combination of JCB’s Mud Run and Dig the Ride races. While Mudfest still operated separate running and biking courses, the courses intersected at five points throughout the race. One of these obstacles was the “Tunnel of Love,” a large container that runners went over and bikes went through.
JCB equipment – including backhoes, skid steers and excavators – created the trails and obstacles that made up the 5-mile event. The course, designed to get participants as muddy as possible, included a lake and 30 obstacles.
Mudfest capped off at the “Party Pit” with food, live music and fun. After, of course, participants rinsed off at cleaning stations that were literally supported by JCB equipment.
The event provided 100% of its proceeds to the Lady Bamford Center, which supports children of homeless and low-income families.
“JCB is always proud to open our campus to the community, and what better way to do that than to host an event created by our equipment,” said Thom Peebles, Vice President of Marketing for JCB North America “The first-ever Mudfest was a tremendous success, raising $100,000 to support The Lady Bamford Center.”
Compact Power offers the JCB equipment that created Mudfest. Whatever your innovative, muddy projects may be, Compact Power has the equipment rentals to help you complete them.
