Bond with Your Kids This Father’s Day Weekend

Father’s Day weekend is a great time to hang out with your kids. And if you’re a passionate DIYer, what better gift than to spend time working with them? No matter their age, you can always find a way to get your kids involved on your next project. How? Here are some idea starters:
For little kids:
While little ones shouldn’t operate equipment, that doesn’t mean they can’t get involved in the fun. Have them be in charge of project prep like set-up, overseeing a level or other non-power tools. Projects like digging up the garden bed and planting bushes are great to work on with your little ones. But remember, leave the large machinery to you.
Do you have a project you want to take on, but still need to assess the worksite, gather the right materials and rent large equipment? Well, if you work together with your teenage children, you can get everything done over Father’s Day weekend. Take a trip to your local The Home Depot together and choose the large equipment you want to rent.
For college students:
Use your DIY projects as a chance to reconnect with your child while they’re home for summer break. As you work with our onsite delivery technician, make sure your young adults are there, too. They can also learn how to safely operate large equipment. Once you’re both comfortable with the machinery, practice basic use together. This will make your projects more hands-on and collaborative.
All in all, working together with your child on an outdoor project will get the job done faster and provide more time for you to spend together. From all of us at The Home Depot Rental, we wish you a Happy Father’s Day!
